The cave is located on the northeast edge of the Thuringian Forest, at the transition to the Thuringian basin.

The Marienglashöhle does not come up with any spectacular interior, but it is impressive, especially considering the time and under which conditions this cave was dug. A suitable lighting and information boards as well as dedicated guides complete the whole thing.
